Cancellation Policy
At Lifeworks Psychology we endeavour to provide timely services to our valued clients. We also value the time of our practitioners. As such, in certain circumstances we need to charge cancellation fees. We strive to fill any cancelled appointments to avoid cancellation fees for our clients, but this is not always possible at short notice.
If you need to cancel your appointment you must do so at least 48 hours before your appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client who may be waiting for an appointment. This cancellation policy does not apply if you reschedule your appointment or are unwell and can provide a medical certificate.
Clients:
- Short-notice cancellations are considered less than 48 hours from the scheduled appointment time. Monday and Tuesday appointments must be cancelled by 3pm the Friday before the appointment as phone messages and email are not monitored over the weekend. A fee of $145 applies if we cannot fill the cancelled appointment.
- Cancellations within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time will be charged a cancellation fee of $260 if we cannot fill the cancelled appointment.
- Cancellation fees cannot be reimbursed through Medicare or private health funds. Some external funding bodies cover a small number of cancellations.
- The cancellation fee will be automatically charged to the nominated debit/credit card on Halaxy. If not available, an invoice will be sent via email for payment. You will be required to pay the outstanding cancellation fee before your next appointment.
NDIS Participants:
- The cancellation fee is debited from the NDIS Plan (or credit/debit card on file for self-managed participants or those with no NDIS funds remaining).
Change Attendance Modalities:
- If you are unable to attend your appointment in person, consider switching to an online or phone consultation to avoid cancellation fees.
